Kintsugi Mug Painting Class!

friday April 27th, 6-8pm

I love this class so much! This began as a class for a youth advocated program, but the history of the art itself has so much meaning to it, I feel that it can be a very personal and therapeutic craft for anyone.

KINTSUGI is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Just because something is broken, doesn't mean we have to throw it away. Sometimes we can repair them and make it beautiful and new again. The fact that this item was broken, and then repaired with care is now part of that item's history. But we will embrace those cracks and showcase the flaws instead of trying to hide them. The philosophy of wabi-sabi: finding beauty in the imperfections and incomplete.

Since we are handling broken pieces of ceramic and crazy glue, the recommended age for this is 11/12 and up.

$15 per person for one mug.
There will be complimentary treats/beverages served!
All supplies are included:
-One mug, gloves, zip bag, masking tape, paint, brushes, crazy glue.

max of 12 people per session.
